About Sishu Mandir

Being inspired by the summons of Swamiji, “Saraswati Sishu Mandir” has started its journey in 1952 at Gorakhpur (U.P.) with a vow of making an ideal Man by education through the mother language to the project Indian Nation and Indian Culture. The Sishu Mandir is spread all over the country. In 1982, the Sishu Mandir was established in West Bengal at Siliguri with the name of “Sarada Sishu Tirtha”.

In the active efforts of Parishad for 38 years, today in West Bengal, there are 326 Vidyalaya namely Saraswati Sishu mandir, Sarada Sishu Mandir, Vivekananda Sishsu Mandir, Sarada Sishu Tirtha, etc. The mandirs are now spread in towns, villages, forest areas, hill areas, and border areas. It has become a matter of pleasure, pride, and encouragement also. This Parishad is an approved organization of “Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Siksha Sansthan”. In India, there are around 30000 schools of Vidya Bharati having over 35 lakh children and 1.50 lakh Acharya-Acharyaa.

The main motto of the Parishad is to eradicate bad habits and superstitions from society as well as providing education. Besides that, the Parishad is trying to evolute various human characters like Responsibility, Morality, Nationality, reverence, etc. Sishu Mandir has also engaged itself in social works such as Conducting a reform center at the weaker section of the society, assistance to the affected people in the natural distance to the Leprosy patients, etc.

Our Mission

To develop a National System of Education which would help to build a generation of youngmen and women that is: committed to Hindutva and infused with patriotic fervor, physically, vitally, mentally, and spiritually fully developed. We must be capable of successfully facing challenges of life; dedicated to the service of those of our brothers and sisters who dwell in villages, forests, caves, and slums; and are deprives and destitute, so that they are liberated from the shackles of social evils and injustice and thus devoted, may contribute to building up a harmonious prosperous and culturally rich Nation.

Our Aim

We have to develop a national education system which shall aim at blooming religious values among the youth of the society and make this youth strong enough to face all the challenges of life. Simultaneously to fight against all social evils prevailing among people dwelling in cities-villages, hills-mountains, forests, and slums and shall strive towards bringing them back to the main flow of social life in a united matter.

Features of the Education System

An ideal institution for education through the mother language.
Appropriate English learning from class “Uday”.
Moral and spiritual education along with general bookish education.
Regular Guardian relationship to establish consistency between home and sishu mandir and also for making conversation regarding the development of the student.
Regular Guardian meeting and Mother’s meeting is organized to make conversation regarding the development of the students and some other advantages, disadvantages regarding the development of Sishu Mandir.
Application of “Sishu Batika” at the pre-primary stage for the development of a student.
Study of Sanskrit, the mother of Bengali language from class II.
Educational Tour to make the student acquainted with the outside world.
Formation of ‘Sishu Bharati’ in school to build up the nature of Leadership, Responsibility, and working jointly. ‘Sishu Sabha’ is organized for the development of personality.
Holding many National and Social Festivals like Guru Purnima, Rakhi Purnima, Saraswati Puja, Samarpan Day, Birthday of great men, etc.
Physical Exercises like Yoga, Music, Sanskrit, Morality, Spirituality, Dance, Sketch, etc. have been inserted as additional syllabus.
Proper Computer learning from class II.
Providing Library facilities to help students with easy access to contemporary books.
Learning of ‘Vaidic Ganit’ from Class II-IV so that may solve mathematical problems within 30 sec.
Prayer and worship to Maa Saraswati are observed daily in a spiritual environment for the awakening of reverence of God, Nature, and man.
Inspiration for creative activities and practical application in the subject of Geography, History, Science. Application of helpful articles and Functional learning.
Blooming of Universal worship, the arrangement of continuous examination, and stress less syllabus.
Application of modern technology like Computer, Projector, PowerPoint, Audio-visual process for imparting joyful learning among the students.

Bramhachari Jyotirmoy Saraswati Shishu Mandir is located at Haripal, Hooghly, West Bengal. 37 dedicated and professional teachers ensure that the children get the maximum out of their education in this Other Board school. Bramhachari Jyotirmoy Saraswati Shishu Mandir was started in the year 2010.
